The Fiano di Avellino

Fiano is an ancient vine of Greek origins. It owes its name to one of its first nicknames: Apianumwhich means grape loved by bees for its sweetness.

His first interpretations as a sweet and sparkling wine earned him precious appreciation by Frederick II of Swabia and Charles of Anjou.

However, it was the vinification in purity that made him transform from a sweet and sparkling wine as it was initially vinified to a drier and more full-bodied wine so as to make him obtain the controlled designation of origin in 1978 and then the controlled and guaranteed designation of origin in the 2003.
