On the sunshine blessed hills of Torre Le Nocelle, in the locality of San Mercurio, resides a small Irpinia town, positioned north-east of Avellino. Located between Montemiletto and Dentecane, the Aglianico Sertura vineyards are situated there. Here the strong daily temperature variations and the predominantly clay type soil make for the ideal environment for the cultivation of this great red variety, the autochthonous vine that most characterises the area. The vineyards are located at an altitude of approximately 500 m a.l.m., the grape variety grown is 100% Aglianico, the training system is Guyot for a planting density of 4,000 vines per hectare.
The harvest for the Aglianico ripens late, in the first ten days of November, taking advantage of the sunny days that dry the soil and allow the traditional manual harvest of these precious red berried fruits. Matured over a long summer, they offer all of their scents together with their distinctive characteristics when bottled.
Fiano di Avellino
In the territory of Montefalcione, in the locality of San Marco, a pretty village perched on a hill not far from Avellino, are the vineyards of Fiano Sertura. These are geographical areas naturally suited to agriculture and in particular for the production of wines.
The vineyards of Fiano Sertura are located at 380 m a.s.l. and used exclusively and in their entirety for Fiano grapes. On a predominantly clay type soil with a Guyot system and type of planting for 4,000 vines per hectare.
The harvest takes place in the first ten days of october, all work is completed by hand, as in the most genuine tradition. Between sunny days, rains and strong temperature variations, an elegant wine rich in aromas evolves, a magnificent expression of the territory from which it originated.
Full, structured and complex, the Fiano di Avellino was born to enchant.
Greco di Tufo
Greco di Tufo Sertura is born and evolves in the elevated and sunny vineyards of Prata Principato Ultra, Vallimai located, north of Avellino, which stretch out gently along a territory that has always been devoted to agriculture. This area is dedicated to traditional cultivation. In these places the most genuine expression of “making wine in the ancient way” is presented most powerfully amongst the vineyards that represent the pride of a wine culture that has always been present and alive. The vineyards of Greco Sertura, which take shape on a clay type soil rich in minerals, are located at an altitude of 400 m above sea level, with 100% Greco grapes, trained with the Guyot system and with a planting density of 4,000 vines per hectare.
Greco di Tufo is an exclusive wine from Irpinia, from which it takes all of the unmistakable character. What emerges, following a harvest completed after the first ten days of October, is a distinctive mineral wine, with a delicate sapidity, which is balanced and intense.
Taurasi Sertura delivers body and soul into the vineyards of Torre Le Nocelle, in the San Mercurio area. This is where the Aglianico grape is historically cultivated with passion and dedication. The main feature of the conformation of the land is the strong presence of a clay type soil component, an element that gives these delicious grapes all their distinctive character. In addition, the strong thermal excursions, which increase its expressive charge. The vineyards from which Taurasi is produced are the same as those of Aglianico IGT. The same technical characteristics: altitude of 500 m a.s.l., 100% Aglianico blend, Guyot training system, 4,000 vines per hectare, late harvest in November, traditional manual harvesting with meticulous selection of the bunches.
